Nokia 5.1 Plus Launched In India: Here’s Everything You Need To Know

HMD Global has launched a new budget Smartphone in India, Nokia 5.1 Plus, the global variant of the Nokia X5 launched in China in May. It was launched alongside Nokia 6.1 Plus and will be available to buy via Flipkart in September.

Nokia 5.1 Plus Specifications:

The device features a modern design housing of 5.86-inch screen with HD+ resolution of 720×1520 pixels and 19:9 aspect ratio. On the inside, the Nokia 5.1 Plus is powered by the Helio P60 chipset by Mediatek along with 3GB ram and 32GB storage(expandable up to 400GB via microSD). Providing the juice is a 3060mAh battery which should last a day but sadly the phone does not come with fast charging. On the plus side, it features a type-c port for charging and also retains the 3.5mm headphone jack.

Coming to the software, the Nokia 5.1 Plus runs on the Android One platform by Google. It comes preloaded with Android 8.1 Oreo and will be updated to Android 9 Pie. The stock android and zero bloatware on this device enable lag-free experience. Apart from the fingerprint scanner on the back, you can also use AI Face Recognition to unlock the device.

Camera:

On the camera side of things, the Nokia 5.1 Plus packs a dual camera setup with a 13MP primary shooter and another 5MP sensor mainly for measuring the depth of field and bokeh effect. The primary sensor has a f/2.0 aperture which is capable of recording 1080p video at 30fps and supports PDAF. The front-facing camera is an 8MP shooter with f/2.2 aperture. This phone also has the Bothie feature which takes photos and videos with both the front and rear cameras at the same time as all other Nokia devices.

Nokia 5.1 Plus Price:

The Nokia 5.1 Plus will be available in available in 3 color options – Black, Blue, and White. While HMD Global did not confirm the pricing, it will probably cost around ₹12500 considering its price in China and the fact that it will be priced below the Nokia 6.1 Plus. This device will compete with the Realme 1, Zenfone Max Pro M1 and the Redmi Note 5 Pro. We will come to know about the final pricing when it becomes available on Flipkart in September.
