Honor 8X With Kirin 710 Processor Launched In China

Huawei announced the Honor 8X and Honor 8X Max in China last week and the Honor 8X is going on sale starting September 11. The 8X is a successor to 7X, which was one of the best selling budget smartphones in India. Seems like Honor has been late to the party as all the budget smartphones have already launched in India. Last but not the least, Honor still managed to make 8X a worthy contestant in the competition.

Honor 8X Specifications:

The Honor makes a design statement featuring a glass back design as an improvement from the metal design from last year. The glass back looks gorgeous in the blue color with horizontal text along the cameras and in the branding adding to the design element. It features a 6.5-inch display with FHD+ resolution which the brand claims to be tri-bezel less. The device has a notch up top and a quite large chin giving it about 84% screen to body ratio. In this department though, the Honor 8X Max takes a leap ahead with a water droplet notch providing more real estate to the display.

Honor 8X

On the inside, the Honor 8X is a true beast featuring the Kirin 710 chipset which is the latest offering by Huawei’s own Hisilicon brand. The Kirin 710 is an octa-core chip based on the 12nm process. Running the graphics side of things is the Mali-G51 MP4 GPU coupled with Huawei’s GPU Turbo technology which ensures maximum performance is achieved while still maintaining efficiency. The device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with Huawei’s EMUI 8.2 skin on top.

Honor devices have been known for their excellent cameras. The Honor 8X too is a camera-centric device with dual rear cameras consisting of a 20MP f/1.8 (PDAF) sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. The front camera is a 16MP sensor with HDR and beauty modes. The device supports a rear fingerprint scanner and faces unlock too. The battery is a huge improvement at 3750mAh but Huawei cut the corners with a micro USB port for charging.

Honor 8X Price:

The Honor 8X is available in three variants offering 4GB/64GB, 6GB/64GB, and 6GB/128GB Ram and Storage options. The color options include Midnight Black, Sapphire Blue, Bright Red, and Pink, the blue being the most liked by everyone. The starting price is set at 1399 Yuan (15,000 INR approximately). We expect Huawei to bring the Honor 8X to India in the coming weeks.
